Meet Your Providers
Origin Story
Dani and Bonnie met in acupuncture school and quickly became close friends, often discussing the idea of one day opening a practice together. After graduation, life took them in different directions as they each explored their own paths. A few years later—thanks to the right timing, some unexpected twists, and a little bit of fate—they found themselves in Maine, ready to bring their shared vision to life. River’s Edge Acupuncture is the result of that long-standing dream: a welcoming space where people can feel supported, grounded, and well.
Danielle Gaglini, L.Ac, MAOM, Dipl.OM
ACUPUNCTURE, HERBAL MEDICINE & ENERGY WORK
Danielle Gaglini (Dani) is a licensed acupuncturist and the co-founder of River’s Edge Acupuncture. She holds a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College. She has also served as a teaching assistant at the University and completed clinical rotations at the VA Hospital and community clinics in the northeast region.
As soon as she became board-certified, Dani opened a private practice within the NH Health & Wellness Center — one of the largest integrative medicine institutions in New England. This dynamic opportunity allowed her to treat a variety of people and conditions, cultivate deep patient-provider relationships, and collaborate with a team to elevate individual-centered care.
On her own healing journey, Dani discovered the power of the mind-body connection and believes this is one of the most essential pathways towards wholeness. Over the past decade, she has led yoga, meditation, and breath workshops around the world, became a Reiki master, learned biofield sound frequency therapy and trained under Dr. Ben Benjamin in orthopedic bodywork to expand her offerings to the community.
In the treatment room, Dani meets you with compassion, felt perception, and thoughtful analysis. She offers unique and highly in depth sessions that integrate her background in Traditional Eastern Medicine with intuitive energy work. Using hands on touch, intentional listening, and ancient diagnostic modalities, her ultimate goal is to provide you with a supportive space to co-facilitate your innate healing and restoration.
Dani welcomes everyone, wherever you are in process. Her special interests include mental-emotional-spiritual health, neurology, autoimmune conditions & complex disease dynamics, chronic pain, acute injuries, and longevity medicine.
Bonnie Freitas, L.Ac, MAOM, Dipl.OM
ACUPUNCTURE & HERBAL MEDICINE
Bonnie Freitas is a licensed acupuncturist and the co-founder of River’s Edge Acupuncture. She holds a Master of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture at MCPHS University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Spanish from the University of Massachusetts.
Bonnie’s clinical experience includes diverse rotations at the VA Hospital, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, a wellness studio, a community acupuncture clinic, and Jade Integrated Health — an integrated acupuncture and physical therapy practice. These settings deepened her understanding of how acupuncture can serve a wide range of people, conditions, and healing journeys.
Her treatment style is rooted in presence and thoughtful observation. Bonnie blends multiple ways of listening — to your words, your story, and the subtle information your body shares through palpation, pulse, and other diagnostic tools. Sessions with Bonnie are unhurried, collaborative, and tailored with care. Her goal is to create a space where you feel understood and supported — and where your body can return to its own natural rhythm of healing.
Bonnie enjoys helping anyone and everyone on their path toward abundant health, but she brings particular interest and experience in supporting women’s health. This includes fertility, painful or irregular periods, hormonal transitions like menopause, and more. She also frequently works with patients navigating digestive issues such as IBS, bloating, and acid reflux, as well as those seeking relief from chronic headaches and migraines.
